NOART

Noart (Arnaud Lucet) is a French artist born in 1965 whose practice sits at the intersection of sculpture, design, and speculative fiction. Early in his career he explored fantastical worlds inspired by the literary imaginations of writers such as Jules Verne and J. M. Barrie. Working within a steampunk aesthetic influenced by urban culture and subcultures, these early works embraced invention, storytelling and the playful re-enchantment of an imperfect world.

Over the past decade, light and movement have become central to Noart’s practice, leading to the development of his distinctive luminokinetic universe. Often borrowing the language of design and consumer objects, the artist deliberately blurs the boundary between sculpture and functional form. Through humour, irony and occasional kitsch aesthetics, his works subtly divert and critique the codes of contemporary culture.

Recurring motifs such as safes, armored vehicles, ATMs and money-laundering machines reflect society’s fascination with wealth, power and excess. Rhinestones, mirrored surfaces and luminous structures amplify this commentary, creating works that are both visually seductive and conceptually playful. At once mischievous and reflective, Noart’s sculptures invite viewers to question appearances while imagining alternative realities.

Balancing satire with wonder, his work often introduces portals, vortexes and organic mechanical forms that suggest movement toward another dimension. In these luminous environments, light becomes both material and metaphor, offering moments of humour, resistance, and escape.

Noart’s work has been exhibited internationally, including at major art fairs such as Art Paris, London Art Fair, Context Art Miami and Art Wynwood. His sculptures have been presented in solo and group exhibitions across Europe and the United States, with galleries in Paris, Miami and the Netherlands representing his work.
